Jade Engstler of Garner enters professional pharmacy program at Drake University

Jade Engstler of Garner, IA, recently participated in the 2011 Doctor of Pharmacy White Coat Ceremony at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. The ceremony recognizes students entering the first year in the University's Doctor of Pharmacy program.

In the presence of family, friends and faculty, Engstler was presented with a white lab coat and personalized nametag to mark their entrance into the four-year professional program. Admittance requires the completion of two years of pre-pharmacy studies.

A reception for students and their families followed the ceremony.

Graduates of Drake's Doctor of Pharmacy program work in community-based retail practice, clinic and specialty practices, hospitals and long-term care practices. A significant portion of graduates continue to post-graduate education and training opportunities such as law school, medical school, graduate school and residency and fellowship training.
